Su J. Sokol

Su J. Sokol is a social rights advocate and a writer of speculative, liminal, and interstitial fiction. A former legal services lawyer from New York City, she now makes Montréal her home. Su is the author of two novels, Cycling to Asylum, which was long-listed for the Sunburst Award and optioned for a film, and Run J Run, published in 2019 by Renaissance Press. A YA speculative fiction novel, Zee, is to be published in French by Bouton d'or Acadie in 2020. Her short fiction has appeared in such magazines as The Future Fire; Spark: A Creative Anthology; Glittership: An LGBTQ Science Fiction and Fantasy Podcast; and B-Cube Press's After the Orange: Ruin and Recovery, a post-Trump speculative fiction anthology. When she is not writing, battling slumlords, bringing evil bureaucracies to their knees, and smashing borders, Su curates and participates in readings and literary events in Canada and abroad.
