Jay Odjick

Jay Odjick is an Anishinabe writer and artist from the Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg Algonquin Nation in Quebec. After KAGAGI: The Raven was published by Arcana Comics, Jay co-founded a production company that produced a television series called Kagagi based on the graphic novel and is an executive producer on the show and also serves as its character designer and lead writer. You can find Kagagi on APTN Sundays at 10AM or at aptn.ca/Kagagi and on FNX in the United States, on NITV in Australia. Jay most recently illustrated Blackflies by Robert Munsch, which as of this writing was the #2 best-selling kids book in Canada and his artwork is featured in Canada’s largest museum, the Museum of History’s new signature gallery, the History Hall. Kagagi is the only First Nations superhero featured in Canada’s Library and Archive’s exhibit Alter Ego. When not drawing or writing, Jay can be found at public speaking engagements on diversity, his career and First Nations issues or doing what he can in the name of language revitalization, an issue near and dear to him.
