Jane Ann McLachlan

Jane Ann McLachlan is the multiple award-winning author of six published novels, three non-fiction books, one memoir, and a short story collection. Her novels include: Walls of Wind (2013, SF); The Occasional Diamond Thief (2015, YA SF) which was featured in VOYA and won the Book Publishers of Alberta Award (BPAA) for Speculative Fiction; The Salarian Desert Game (2016, YA SF), a sequel to Diamond Thief, which is listed on the Canadian Best Books for Children and Teens in 2017 and was runner-up for the BPAA; The Sorrow Stone (2017, HF) which won the Royal Palm Literary Award for Historical Fiction; and The Girl Who Would Be Queen (2019, HF). Before writing full-time, she was a professor of English, Written Communications, and Professional Ethics at Conestoga College in southwestern Ontario. She now teaches writing workshops and courses in Canada and the United States.
