Nisa Malli

Nisa Malli is a Senior Policy Analyst with the Brookfield Institute for Innovation + Entrepreneurship, where she leads speculative and realistic research at the intersection of technology, labour, economic growth, and inequality. Her first chapbook of slipstream body-horror ghost poems, Remitting, was published by Baseline Press in 2019 and she is working on a speculative poetry space opera. For the Brookfield Institute, she curates The Policymakers' Guide to the Galaxy: What Science Fiction Can Teach Us About the Future of Work and the Economy, in which economists and labour researchers interview science fiction writers about the worlds they invented and the speculative potential of science fiction. She teaches worldbuilding and speculative writing workshops for policymakers as a tool for breaking out of entrenched policy debates.
