WORKSHOP - Diving Into Fantasy Locations w/ Derek Newman-Stille (sign-up in advance)

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

In this workshop we will delve into new environments, explore geographies and the ways that they shape characters and also the way that we shape our environments. We will explore extreme locations on our own planet and imagine possibilities for how these environments can shape characters and the way people behave and interact with their world. We will look at different architectural features and think about how the spaces we live in not only reflect us, but also shape us, and by doing so, we will think about how our characters are shaped by the architecture they live in and with. This workshop will be particularly helpful for thinking about setting, but will also explore the way that setting impacts character development and plot.
