Love can be a powerful element in a story without the romance taking over the plot – and love doesn’t actually need to be “romance.” Panelists discuss how love functions in a variety of speculative favorites, such as Kell and Rhys (Shades of Magic), Zoe and Wash (Firefly), Frodo and Sam (LOTR), or Essun and Nassun (The Broken Earth Trilogy).
