Fiction has come a long way in its portrayal of (some) minority groups, and so has the idea of acceptable targets. Yet fatness is still too often seen as undesirable at best, and downright proof of villainy at worst. While some fat villains have been reclaimed as fat icons, what can be done to dismantle fatphobia on a worldbuilding level? What are the challenges that come from portraying fat positivity across all genders, races, and abilities?
